ABOUT ME

'ARRIVE AS A TOURIST, LEAVE AS AN AMBASSADOR'

My travels are measured by the memories evoked by experiences; a helicopter ride into the Grand Canyon, the view of Machu Picchu, the Northern Lights, Monument Valley, wildlife in natural habitats, switchbacks in the Andes, meeting an astronaut or an artist or a singer, a picnic at the Eiffel Tower, ancient buildings, throat singing in Canada, the view from the top of a Ferris wheel, wine tasting in Mendoza, the red earth of the Kimberley, lanterns in Hoi An, marigolds on the Ganges, icebergs in the Arctic.

I love every aspect of travelling; selecting the destination,  searching for and finding the cheapest flight, selecting tours, cruises, cars, and accommodation, packing and re-packing. Then there is the anticipation of arriving at the airport, clearing customs and security and boarding the aircraft to a new destination, and new experiences.

Travel provides us with more than sights. It provides history, geography, and people. Even when we don't share the same language, we can share a bond with people through a smile, a wave, or a few badly-pronounced words from a phrasebook. Travel can change lives, especially your own. It can enhance and provide a positive and unbiased view of the world. Having a positive attitude and never making rude or negative comments about a place will enhance the overall experience.

Some of my personal experiences and stories are included here. I hope you enjoy reading them.
